We must understand, as a global community, that achieving happiness and wellness is a holistic process. For most of us it is one that requires changes in every part of our lifestyle, changes that include a daily practice of mind, body, and spirit-nurturing rituals.

The oldest religions in the world and the indigenous people who practice them have recognized the power of the mind and spirit for eons. Their health and well-being are rooted in rituals and wisdom passed down from one generation to the next. They knew the incredible healing power and intelligence of plants and herbs. (more…)

Pranayama is the control of the breath so that it may tune to the body, calm the mind, and ultimately be used as a route to deeper levels of consciousness. Prana means many thinks in Sanskrit – it is not just the word for breath, but also life-force, cosmic energy, air, and strength, as if yoga does not distinguish between the breath of the individual and the pulsing energy of the cosmos. It is an evaluation session in  which we consider those habits of ours that are causing us pain and those that are helping us to grow and get closer to bliss.

Mirroring can take many forms. It can be a simple matter of making time to be alone to reflect on what has taken place so far in the day, and to adjust our game plan for the rest of the day. It can come in the form of journal writing, or list making. Making lists of goals is another way to approach mirroring. (more…)

First and Foremost, I’m a normal woman who meditate early, every morning and get more focus for the day. Even though I’m not a early bird and often I think, how nice and warm the bed is. I get up because I know how beautiful the pure morning feels. It is still dark sometime , the smell of the air so fresh and crisp and the birds chirping .

An alternate and more positive habit we can adopt is recognizing each day as a gift and a new set of opportunities. Each morning that we awake, rejuvenate, tune into our senses, and prepare to meet the world is another chance for growth, fulfillment, and passage into the zone of bliss. (more…)
